What to be aware of when vacationing at the NV Vidanta resort for the first time?

Due to our enjoyment and satisfaction of visiting the Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta areas we have not vacationed at another Vidanta resort location in Mexico. Yes we have been to other beach destinations in Mexico, but we have always returned to the Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta areas, it has become our favorite spot for vacations and to relax in a slower paced, less commercialized traditional Mexican experience.

Things we can share to enhance your vacation enjoyment when at NV Vidanta.

The NV Vidanta resort is large, much bigger than expected when you start to walk or move around the resort. There are golf cart style shuttles to transport you from resort building to resort building within the complex, so no need to always walk, unless you are wishing to exercise.

However if you have small kids may need to consider which resort building you book into at NV, as getting to the beach front can mean a walk carrying kids stuff, but you can also use the shuttle transportation. For ease of location and getting to the kids and adult pool areas we have found the NV Grand Mayan resort buildings are the closest to pools, the beach front and the Lazy River tube rides.

If you are an avid walker or runner there are plenty of jogging routes demarcated throughout the NV resort complex, quoted by resort to have over 9 miles of walking and running routes. No need to exercise outside the resort complex, so your safety is assured.

The Vidanta resorts are run on a cashless basis. No need to carry money around, all transactions are billed to your room number. At the time of guest check-ins everyone in your family will be given a wrist bracelet that serves as your room key.

Vidanta resorts are not all inclusive, however there are many eating experiences you can have from casual to fine dining places. Use the Vidanta app for your resort dining experiences or getting in room food deliveries. Also available from the resort shopping plazas are daily groceries, freshly baked bread, sodas and adult beverages (wine, beer and tequila) are all available. As an alternate option guests can also take a local taxi to be driven to a nearby supermarket to purchase your self-catering grocery needs off-site.

Golf and spa facilities are available for guests, but are not included in any of the vacation offerings. Golf and spa treatments can be purchased through concierge services.

Let’s not forget that there are sea turtle sanctuary conservation efforts in operation at 3 of the destinations – Nuevo Vallarta, Rivera Maya and Acapulco. Each year these sanctuaries protect sea turtle nests and ensure a safe journey from the shore to the water for the hatchings.

All faucet water at the NV resort is produced at the on-site water treatment plant, so it is safe to drink. Purified bottled water is available for purchase from the on-site shopping plaza.

The biggest item to be aware of is that getting members and non-members to vacation at a Vidanta resort is to sign up guests for a presentation. Additional discount offers or incentives may be offered to get guests into a presentation. Attending a presentation is not mandatory, you can always say NO. Vidanta sales teams are trained to be high pressure so as to close in on signing a vacation deal, so be forewarned.

Bon voyage and happy vacations.
